Piereis

Piereis (Greek: ) is a municipality in the Kavala Prefecture, Greece. Population 5,002 (2001). The seat of the municipality is in Moustheni.

Mesoropi

Mesoropi is a village of the Piereis municipality, its name is derived from the ancient greek "εν μεσω ορεων οπη ", "a hole between mountains". In the year 2001 the population was 610. In 1890 it was 1600. The village is at an altitude 350 m on Mount Pangaion. There are two churches in the village: Agios Georgios and Ioanni tou Prodromou
